Lead Mixer – Old Mission BakeryLocation: Traverse City, MI Schedule: Full-time, early morning shifts 7 AM -2 PM About Us: Old Mission Bakery is a bustling, high-quality bakery known for crafting all-natural, from-scratch breads. We’re seeking a dedicated Lead Mixer to oversee our dough production and ensure our kitchen operates smoothly. If you love working with your hands, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for great bread, we’d love to meet you.Responsibilities: Lead daily dough mixing operations according to recipes and production schedules. Accurately measure and scale ingredients for multiple batches. Operate and maintain commercial mixers and related equipment. Monitor dough quality, adjusting for hydration, temperature, and fermentation needs. Direct and coordinate with benchers, bakers, and prep staff to ensure efficient workflow. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Track ingredient usage and communicate supply needs to management. Train and mentor new mixing staff as needed. Qualifications: Previous commercial baking or mixing experience strongly preferred. Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift. Strong attention to detail and consistency. Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced, and noisy kitchen environment. Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts. Basic math skills for scaling and measuring recipes.
