The Business Intelligence Engineer's work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.About Our TeamThe Provider Intelligence and Claims Analytics (PICA) team is a blend of experts and leaders in various fields of data, analysis, and process improvement, leveraging each other's strengths to take our stakeholders to the next level of business intelligence capabilities. We are a focused, agile, rapid-delivery, full-service analytics consultancy that solves big problems with big impact within the Provider domain.The PICA team provides clarity, insight and transparency to our business partners through consultative engagements that leverage analytics, technology and reporting.The Business Intelligence Engineer will use a variety of tools, technologies, applications and best practices to collect, integrate and analyze an organization's raw data in order to create and present insightful and actionable business information. BI Engineers are expected to understand department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. BI Engineers make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and should only require minimal direction and guidance while following established guidelines/procedures.

Works directly with market and corporate executives and their teams, helping them leverage data and technology to maximize business impact

Assesses business processes and recommends improvements

Partners with business teams and analytics/technology professionals to identify data and technology related needs

Creates repeatable, automated ETL packages

Writes queries to pull/summarize/analyze data from various data sets and platforms

Analyzes data and creates visualizations to derive insights

Provides consultation to business teams related to processes, data, and technology

Use your skills to make an impactRequired Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

2+ years of technical experience in data analysis utilizing SQL, SAS, R, or Python

Working knowledge of PowerApps and PowerBI

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Expertise in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Working knowledge of Power Automate

In-depth experience in Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivots, charts, graphs, etc.

Experience with data mining and predictive modeling techniques

Ability to use data to drive business outcomes and decisions
