HYBRID REMOTE UX Designer Kalamazoo, MI 6+ months contract Our end client is looking for a UX Designer for a 6+ month contract in Kalamazoo, MI. This is a HYBRID role (remote/on-site - to be determined) and willing to be onsite occasionally, as needed basis. Must have 3-5+ years experience, proven solid work history and MUST SUBMIT portfolio of work with resume to be considered Description: Hybrid Model (part-week attendance in the Kalamazoo office will be necessary) - TBD Summary: As a UX Applications Designer, you'll have opportunities to partner with over 200 other designers, researchers, and creatives with a variety of disciplines. Working in close collaboration, you will reimagine mobile product lines, work on connected products, and inspire the cross-functional team with future innovation ideas. The Mobile Application Designer is responsible for designing intuitive, usable, and engaging interactions that deepen engagement with our brands. You will be delivering the visual designs of mobile apps for physical products working across multiple platforms such as iOS, Android, Windows, and mobile web. You will work closely with Communication Designers, Industrial Designers and the Usability teams in order to ensure your concepts are brand consistent and align to our end user's needs. Responsibilities:
- Concept and implement visual design for mobile app development projects, lead the entire mobile application lifecycle (concept, design, release, and support).
- Provide strategic thinking and lead mobile app development projects.
- Recommend and implement new mobile protocols, applications, and products.
- Lead discovery & development phases - taking vague problems, scoping them into high impact projects, and executing them against a set of success criteria.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups and detailed UI and visual design specifications for mobile app interfaces.
- Provide appropriate documentation for the development team to ensure accurate programming and visual execution of final designs.
- Research and track advancements in mobile application design patterns. Stay in the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes, trends in the mobile design field and up to date with the current UX trends, terminology, concepts, and best practices for design mobile apps.
- Work closely with the cross-functional teams to ensure concepts align with user, technical and marketing needs.
- Partner with the Usability team to incorporate user requirements and findings from usability testing into the concepts you develop.
- Experience taking a design problem, breaking it into smaller actionable chunks and solving them with precision and clarity. (Design Methods/AGILE/LEAN/KANBAN/et al)
- Strong graphic design skills with a good understanding of typography, intuitive layouts, and style guide development.
- A bachelor's degree (or higher) in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Cognitive Science, Art/Mutlimedia/Graphic Design (with relevant concentration), or related field.
- Excellent understanding of user experience design for mobile and the web, demonstrable design skills and ability to show relevant work.
- At least 3 years of design experience in UI/UX, web or graphics design.
- Well organized, able to multi-task, able to prioritize with minimal direction.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross functional work teams.
- Self-motivated and flexible; willing to learn new things.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Proven ability to drive multiple programs simultaneously.
- Expert skills in design and prototype tools (XD, InVision, Sketch, Adobe Suite, etc.).
- Understanding of Apple's human interface design guidelines, Android design and other platform designs.
- IT staffing and placement such as Project Managers, Agile/Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, DBAs, Software Engineers, Mobile Developers (iOS, Android), DevOps, Automation, QA, Systems & Network Engineers, Cyber Security / Information Security Specialists, ERP, CRM, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Big Data and Creative (UI/UX, Web Design)
- Operational staffing and placement of Accounting/Finance, Human Resources, and Marketing professionals, as well as Information Technology resources.
