carpenter and carpenter's assistant

We build new homes, remodel kitchens and baths, build additions, and do large remodel and structural repair jobs, we remove interior walls and add hidden beams to create open floor plans in older homes. We raise, level and save older structures like carriage houses. Duties include demo, framing, drywall, insulation, siding and soffit work. Must have good reliable transportation to drive to different job sites mostly in Kent and Montcalm counties gas expenses paid in some cases. Must speak fluent English and be able to communicate well with others. Must be able to; lift and carry 60 pounds, carry building materials, set up ladders, and learn to use a wide variety of power tools. Basic knowledge of carpentry hand tools is a must. We will train the right people; with the right attitude and aptitude. We build and finish houses from foundation to cabinet and trim installation, so you will be expected to have the ability to work from ladders, scaffolding and lifts to sheath walls and trusses and do siding and soffit work. (No roof shingling.) Employees will learn to do a wide variety of task and take pride in what we accomplish together as a team. Pay is commensurate with ability, but every employee gets their hands dirty, including the Owner.
