About us: Established in 2009, Prime Maintenance Inc. is a commercial and residential maintenance company that also handles lawn care and snow removal. Our customers are located all over West Michigan, with the primary focus being on the greater Grand Rapids Area.
Lawn Care and Snow Removal Team Members are responsible for performing landscaping and snow removal maintenance tasks for our clients (most are commercial, but there are some residential.) Lawn care includes mowing, edging, trimming, landscaping, and other similar tasks, while snow removal includes shoveling, salting, and plowing. We take pride in our work and our finished product and insist on a safe, collaborative work environment.
About you: The ideal candidate is a skilled team player adept at learning quickly and on-site problem solving. This candidate is a reliable, responsible, efficient handyperson who takes pride in their work, and has a positive attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
Operate commercial lawn care equipment - including Zero Turn mowers - according to company specifications for cut and height
Perform string trimming and edging at job sites
Utilize backpack blowers to clean surfaces after mowing and trimming is complete
Transport equipment using a PMI truck and trailer
Respond promptly to calls for snow and ice events
Clear and pile snow from customer sites in designated areas only.
Operate vehicles and snowplow equipment in a safe, responsible and efficient manner following all recommended operating procedures
Control ice accumulations at jobsites with the safe and responsible use of salt
Hand-shovel or hand-treat site areas as required (walkways, doorways, fire equipment, etc.)
Be available for communication at all times during a shift and before/after shifts
Accurately document site service records for each and every site including times, services performed, weather conditions etc.
Submit paperwork and documentation promptly at the end of each shift
Perform basic maintenance and small repairs on vehicles and equipment as required
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Prepare and show up for shifts free from the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or medicines that have an effect on safe and productive equipment operation
Work in a safe, efficient, and timely manner and in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
Qualifications:
Attention to detail and an eye for excellence
Ability to be on time and stay until the day’s work is complete
Possess a Smart phone and use it to track time and material, as well as navigate to properties
The capacity to work independently or with a crew
General working knowledge of proper lawn and landscape management practices, including basic grass, weed, & disease identification
Flexible attitude open to helping in other areas of the business when needed
Previous commercial mowing and snow removal experience is a plus, but not required
Knowledge of maintaining lawn maintenance and snow removal equipment
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment for extended periods.
Understand and communicate in English – both in person and via phone/text message.
Maintain a clean and organized job site.
Maintain daily project documentation.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Information:
Pay $16.00 - $20.00 hour, based on experience
This position is considered full-time with an expected 30-45 hours per week

o Vacation - 40 hours paid, eligible after 1 year
o Holiday Pay – eligible after 90 days. Must work the workday before and after a holiday or have pre-approved vacation scheduled to be paid for the holiday. Paid holidays are New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
o Simple IRA - up to 3% match, eligible after 1 year
