Independent Carpenter & Carpenter Helper Needed - $22-$35/hour! Area: Novi, MI (for an immediate project)
We're seeking skilled carpenters and carpenter helpers to join our team for an immediate project in the Detroit area.
Responsibilities:
Carpenter: Independently perform all aspects of commercial finish carpentry, from layout and installation to final touch-ups. Installing new cabinets, wood trim, and fixtures. Installing metal and wood doors. Bathroom accessories and partitions. Unloading and organizing materials efficiently and maintaining a clean worksite. Installing standards and blocking, ensuring accuracy and adherence to blueprints and specifications (including in-wall wood blocking). Installing FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) and in-wall blocking in back-of-house (BOH) areas. Securing furniture to concrete floors with precision and skill. Maintaining a professional demeanor and positive attitude on all projects.
Carpenter Helper: Assisting the carpenter with various tasks, including material handling, tool organization, and cleanup. Following instructions and working efficiently to support the project timeline.
Qualifications:
Carpenter: Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial finish carpentry. Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently. Strong knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques (must own your tools). Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately. Punctual, reliable, and safety-conscious. Must have reliable transportation for travel to and from worksites.
Carpenter Helper: Basic carpentry knowledge and skills. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects. Reliable transportation.
Pay: $22-$35 per hour, depending on experience and position.
