Job Title: Slitter Operator – Steel Manufacturing Warehouse

Location: Downriver, MI (Flat Rock, Riverview, Gibraltar)

Rate: Starting at $17

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Slitter Operator to lead a team in our steel manufacturing warehouse. The Team Lead will oversee slitter operations, ensure safety standards are met, and maintain product quality. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to support efficient operations and a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the slitter machine effectively and efficiently while prioritizing safety for yourself and team members.

Serve as the Team Lead for your shift, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Ensure your team consistently:

Maintains a clean, hazard-free workspace.

Verifies measurement tools daily for accuracy.

Disposes of scrap, trash, and other materials in proper containers.

Completes and updates work instruction sign-offs.

Conducts operational audits as assigned.

Review work orders to ensure all requirements, including material, size, and customer specifications, are met.

Monitor material quality during job runs, identifying and addressing defects promptly.

Take and upload pictures into the system for quality control and record-keeping during jobs.

Position Requirements:

Proficiency in reading tape measures and converting decimals to inches.

Basic computer skills for data entry and system updates.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Exceptional attention to detail for maintaining quality and identifying defects in steel.

Experience working with heavy machinery in a manufacturing environment.
