Immediate hire for the right candidate. Candidate must have experience with ISO-14001 and OHAS-18001 implementation, internal auditing. Starting salary is $60,000, but can be more with the right experience being sought after. Day shift position - 5:45am to 3:30pm. JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for performing Human Resources functions in a plant manufacturing environment. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for overseeing the onboarding process for new hires to training employees on company policy and procedures. Support all employees within the company, have current, and detailed understanding of laws and regulations involved in hiring and termination process, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, unemployment, formal disciplinary process, to ensure the Plant is well protected from a legal standpoint, and department efficiency. The Human Resources Generalist will lead the Internal auditing experience in EMS/OHSMS.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Responsible for salary and hourly plant recruiting and staffing when required
Assist and be part of the payroll processing, attendance monitoring, spread sheet maintenance and attendance point tracking with issuing employee disciplinary reports, or employee separation forms
Works with Management to create a work environment or setting in which employees are enabled to perform to the best of their abilities
Keeps the Director Human Resources informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of company goals, and/or advises on issues or concerns
Protects the interests of employees and the Company per HR policies and governmental laws and regulations
Must have experience as a Lead Internal Auditor in ISO - 14001-2015 (EMS) and ISO 45001 (OHSMS)
Follows company compliance with all existing governmental, employment law, and reporting requirements; Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), American With Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Department of Labor (DOL), Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance Agency (UIA), LARA (MIOSHA) and (OSHA). Maintains minimal company exposure to lawsuits
Initiates new hire orientation and Safety training to meet the needs of the Company
Communicate with hourly employees regarding compensation, benefits and other facets of their employment.
Implement annual vacation time schedule to Managers so employees are aware of available paid time off, and prepare annual observed holiday schedule memo
Participate and/or set-up annual benefits open enrollment, and paperwork
Provide Monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI); WC, Attendance, CIR, New Hire/Term, Employee Listing, Bi-weekly Payroll expenses, and Safety meeting minutes.
Respond and follow-up to questions or complaints from employees in a timely fashion
Ensure all employee records are maintained with accurate recordkeeping, USCIS I-9 compliance, E-Verify
Keep Director Human Resources aware of employment or other concerns with regulatory compliance from Federal, State and Local agencies
Implement HR & Safety policies, documentation and companywide communication when directed
Hold monthly health and safety training for plant employees with associated training logs, and support documentation
Prepare and enforce policies, Federal, State and Local to establish a culture of health and safety.
Recommend solutions to Health & Safety issues, improvement opportunities or corrective action and prevention.
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover their causes, and report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
Evaluating and monitoring practices, policies, procedures, regulations and facilities to assess risk while adhering to Federal, State, and Local agencies; EPA, OSHA, MIOSHA, EGLE, DFD etc.
Maintain all recordkeeping, ensure MIOSHA 300 logs are up-to-date and post annual MIOSHA 300A form by February 1st of the following year.
Arrange annual audio-metric testing of Plant floor employees

MINIMUM LEVEL OF EDUCATIONAL & TRAINING:
Minimum of 6 or more years’ experience in Human Resources in an automotive manufacturing environment
Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience, training and education in lieu of Degree
Minimum 2 or more years’ experience in EMS, Safety, MIOSHA regulations, MIOSHA inspections etc
Minimum 4 or more years’ experience in a HR leadership position
MINIMUM LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional bend, stoop, squat, twist, crouch, stand and walk intermittently in the plant and warehouse.
Occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Job duties may involve being in moderate heat during the summer
Safety Glasses/Safety Goggles, face mask, hearing protection, oil-slip-resistant shoes are mandatory in the plant
Job duties may involve walking near heavy machinery with moving parts and moderate noise levels.
Must have reliable transportation & attendance
Must maintain and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
Business attire is worn
