Job Description:
As a Kitchen Manager at The Modern Vegan, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations to ensure a seamless dining experience for our customers. Your leadership will be key in maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
Responsibilities:
Staff Management: Hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff, including chefs, cooks, and dishwashers. Schedule shifts and manage staff performance.
Inventory and Ordering: Manage inventory of food and kitchen supplies, place orders, and ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients.
Food Preparation and Quality Control: Oversee food preparation to ensure compliance with restaurant standards and safety regulations. Develop food specials and update menus.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure kitchen compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food storage, labels, sanitation, and kitchen safety protocols.
Cost Control: Manage the kitchen's budget, control food costs, and work to maximize profitability without compromising quality. This includes managing the schedule to ensure we are not over/under staffed.
Equipment Maintenance: Oversee maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety.
Coordination with Front-of-House: Communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and address any issues during meal service.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inventory, orders, staff schedules, and compliance with health regulations.
Customer Satisfaction: Address customer complaints and feedback related to food quality or service and work to improve the overall dining experience.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Chef, or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations and food safety regulations.
Excellent leadership and management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high-pressure situations.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
Manager's Health card and TAM Card.
