Sr. Accountant

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Detroit, Michigan. This role is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards during year-end close activities and fixed asset management. Responsibilities: Accurately processing and managing fixed assets, ensuring they are properly tracked and depreciated in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. Leading the month-end and year-end financial close process, including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather required information and resolve discrepancies for accurate financial reporting. Assisting with year-end audits by preparing audit schedules, reconciling accounts, and addressing auditor inquiries. Performing month-end and year-end reconciliations of the fixed assets sub-ledger to the general ledger. Auditing and updating the fixed asset register, including additions, disposals, impairments, and transfers. Collaborating with internal teams to ensure fixed asset capitalization guidelines are met during procurement and project completion. Conducting fixed asset physical audits as required to validate accuracy. Assisting in generating standard and ad-hoc financial reports that detail financial position and performance. Identifying opportunities for process improvements related to year-end close or fixed asset accounting. Recommending and implementing procedures for improved efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Requirements Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is mandatory Must have hands-on experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation The candidate should be adept at performing Bank Reconciliations Familiarity and experience with General Ledger management is required Ability to handle and record Journal Entries accurately is essential Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial calculations and data analysis is needed Expertise in handling Month End Close activities is a key requirement Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
