  • Project Scope:

    Our client has an immediate need for a Cloud Engineer with the following skills and experience:

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee both the technical and functional/strategic needs of Champion Home's cloud infrastructure including automation and orchestration, active management of cloud storage and backups, alignment to business continuity and disaster recovery and security requirements
    • Serve in a consultative capacity to monitor cloud utilization, capacity, cost management and optimization, software delivery, security, resource orchestration, configuration management, monitoring, business continuity, disaster recovery and emergency response
    • Continuously identify improvements to the efficient and effective use of cloud resources to meet strategic objectives
    • Serve as a cloud engineering SME and contribute to the managing the overall Enterprise Architecture of aligned to business needs and capabilities
    • Work with project managers, business analysts, and business owners to confirm developed solutions align with existing standards, meet security controls, and align to cloud best practices
    • Contribute expertise to development of technical requirements as part of cross-functional project teams, and offer ideas for how cloud technologies influence the new designs, standards, and methods for scalable, highly available distributed systems
    • Participate in project / implementation milestone activities, code reviews, architecture / design sessions and on-call support as needed
    • Contribute to go-live and cutover activities and post-go-live warranty support activities as need to ensure successful transition of new cloud environments to production operations
    • Deploy scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure using automation, configuration management and deployment tools to manage production environment
    • Design and utilize automated deployment processes and Infrastructure as Code scripts to improve automation, efficiency, consistency and adherence to security and audit requirements and controls, security requirements and certify all logging and monitoring are active for security and compliance
    • Implement, operate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for effective delivery of cloud resources and software
    • Perform analysis and assist in resolving performance and availability issues affecting internal business users and key external stakeholders where appropriate
    • Design and implement proactive monitoring, alerting, trend analysis and self-healing systems across cloud environments
    • Participate in incident management processes, driving service restoration, and learning from past issues with critical cloud technology services and leverage automation to prevent problem recurrence
    • Provide technical support to end-users in co-operation with the Level 1 help desk support

    Requirements:

    • Demonstrated experience with Cloud and DevOps best practices
    • Experience building an automated cloud infrastructure across development, test, and production environments
    • Expertise in scripting, orchestration and automation of builds, workflows, tasks, etc.
    • Hands-on operational experience with Windows, Linux and VMware
    • Experience with container orchestration
    • Experience with Serverless architecture design, implementation and deployment
    • Cloud configuration management, Infrastructure as Code toolsets
    • Experience developing capabilities in a cloud environment for service monitoring, automated remediation, system availability, capacity / utilization analysis, security compliance and vulnerability management
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field of study and 8-10 years' combined experience in the following.
    • 7+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure design, management, and migration of technologies from on-prem to cloud environments
    • 3+ years of experience building, deploying and managing public cloud IaaS and PaaS services
    • Experience in managing an Oracle Fusion Cloud environment
    • Team leader or small-team supervisory experience a plus
