Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and management. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing leadership to the accounting team. Additionally, this role will encompass senior accountant responsibilities, including overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, reconciling accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. Assist to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment
Mark and expand process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Urge accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Determine and invent Ad Hoc financial reports
Aid the accounting team during the closing process to guarantee deadlines are met
Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion
Establish relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Alternative duties as requested
Backfill for Controller as necessary
Develop an assortment of policies, technical accounting analyses, and procedures
Assist with the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Innovative preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Aid implementation and guarantee adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Requirements - CPA certification desired
Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Command of general ledger
Inventory analysis experience
Solid understanding of journal entries
Considerable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Extensive knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and IIA standards
