Description Robert Half is looking for a dedicated Financial Analyst to join a fast-growing company. Some of your responsibilities in this role include running financial modeling on a number of financial products and measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans. We will be relying on you for advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives and preparing reports for management. As a team member, you will serve as a key business partner in areas like forecasting, performance reporting, and expense management. This Financial Analyst role is a long-term contract / temporary employment opportunity in the Battle Creek, Michigan area. We seek a candidate with a strong work ethic and a demonstrated competency in financial analysis.How you will make an impact
Monitor monthly and quarterly performance by comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources effectively
Compile and supervise forecasting reports
Operate with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
Keep up weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
Own monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
Discover the root causes of internal and external facts that are influencing performance and outcomes
Assess potential risks and opportunities and research performance
Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
Support contacts in Accounting and Operations to execute business plans
This position would suit a flexible individual that has experience managing large amounts of information and meeting expectations
Work with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation, and prioritization
Requirements
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Proficiency with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting tools required
Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Financial planning & analysis (go-to-market experience prioritized)
Reporting experience
Demonstrated knowledge of Payment Processing
Practical knowledge of finance
Good understanding of budgeting
General familiarity with About Time
Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)
Background working with external auditing
Deep understanding of training
Closing experience preferred
Analytics experience highly desired
Productivity experience highly valued
Experience with journal entries
Variance analysis experience desired
Previous experience working with Perform Ad Hoc Financial
Command of Microsoft Excel
Foundational knowledge in Effective Communication
Workstation Support experience highly preferred
Customer invoices experience highly desired
Earlier work involving reconciliations
Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
Spreadsheet and ERP system experience is ideal, but not required
