Have you or someone close to you experienced a traumatic event? (examples include events that involved risk of death, serious injury, or sexual violence)
Are you stressed, having trouble sleeping, or feel like you’re always “on guard” as a result?
U-M researchers are seeking adults, 18-60 years old, who have experienced a traumatic event, to participate in a study testing the effect of a wearable light treatment on these symptoms.
The study takes 5 weeks and involves:
- Wearing a wrist monitor (like a fitbit) for 5 weeks
- Weekly visits to our lab in the Rachel Upjohn Building (free parking) to complete interviews
- 2 fMRI scans
- 4 weeks where you will do the light treatment for up to 1 hour each morning at home
If required, free transportation to and from study visits can be provided.
No drugs involved, no blood draws.
Participants will be compensated up to $1210 upon completion of study tasks.
