For questions about this role, email [email protected] .Purpose:As the Behavioral Lab Manager, you will oversee all aspects of human subjects research at the Ross Behavioral Lab, supporting around 25 faculty and 20 PhD students. You will manage lab operations, budget, equipment, scheduling, and staffing, and oversee participant pools and in-lab experiments. Your work also involves coordinating online research projects, maintaining communication between researchers and participants, organizing research materials, and mentoring assistants. ResponsibilitiesManage Lab Operations (30%)

Oversee all human subjects research conducted in the lab, supporting over 25 faculty and associated PhD students.

Develop and implement lab policies and protocols, coordinate weekly meetings

Manage lab space, budget, equipment, and payments.

Hire, train, and manage 10+ research assistants.

Online Research Project Management (30%)

Deploy and manage online research studies using platforms like Prolific, mTurk, and others.

Coordinate with faculty to define study parameters and collect data, manage study progress, and ensure data collection is completed.

Program experimental tasks using tools like Qualtrics, JavaScript, and Python.

Study Coordination (20%)

Manage in-lab studies by coordinating with faculty on study feasibility, reviewing protocols, developing experimental procedures, and training research assistants.

Ensure studies follow lab and study protocols.

Participant Pool Management (15%)

Oversee recruitment and management of the Ross paid participant pool and the student research requirement pool.

Coordinate recruitment efforts, communicate policies, manage research project intake, and promote the pool.

Additional Tasks (5%)

Collect and analyze lab metrics, update the website, and perform additional research-related tasks.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience working in a human subjects research laboratory with in-person research data collection. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of psychology or related fields, such as consumer or organizational behavior research.

1+ years of experience mentoring research assistants or comparable mentoring experience.

Experience with survey design and experimental software such as Qualtrics or e-Prime.

This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range .
