A background in mechanical or electrical or automotive or HVAC work is helpful
Mobility City is the industry leader in repairs, rentals, and sales of mobility equipment. We provide service to veterans, seniors, and the physically challenged via our mobile service vans and interactive showrooms.
Our Field Technician will visit people's homes or institutions to repair, deliver, or assemble wheelchairs, power chairs, lift chairs, mobility scooters, hospital beds, stair lifts, and more.
This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, excellent customer service, and the ability to lift over 50 lbs. Mobility City will provide all required training/certifications and our company van.
Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and repair mobility equipment
- Perform white glove deliveries with our company van
- Read & understand the service call requirements (ex. location, challenges to install, payor information, etc.) prior to arrival
- Assist customers on proper use of their equipment
- Troubleshoot & diagnose equipment issues (electrical/mechanical)
- Document the repair & the solution
- Obtain signature from customer on delivery/install paperwork
- Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and parts used
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment
- Participate in trainings/certifications to deal with equipment that Mobility City sells, delivers and services
- Maintain inventory stock
- Value helping & assisting mobility challenged folks
- Maintain a cheerful attitude when helping customers
- Listen well and instruct with kindness & empathy
Qualifications
- Have a current valid driver's license
- Have a clean driving record
- Pass a criminal background check
- Achieved at least a High School Diploma or GED
- Communicates well
- Able to lift over 50 lbs
- Able to work independently
- Good with tools (ratchets, drivers, pliers, multimeter, etc)
- Desires to excel through our vendor trainings/certifications
- Demonstrates empathy, good character, and keeps a positive attitude
