Automotive Dismantler Technician Wanted

Looking to employ the right person to join our team. Westover Auto Salvage is currently seeking a motivated individual to help professionally dismantle our inventoried vehicles. Come join us inside in our heated garage with floor heat, to work in a clean, healthy and professional atmosphere. We are looked up as a junkyard, but that is NOT how we operate. We are not a junkyard at Westover Auto Salvage. Our automotive dismantler technicians are trained and retrained to dismantle all parts as if they are to reinstall them and to include hardware, while making sure they a detail orientated and quality control focused.

Job Description:

Potential Hire will be asked to dismantle vehicles according to company protocols out in the dismantling bay as well as in the storage area at our facility. Parts to be pulled will be assigned by management. The expectations will be communicated of how the part is to be dismantled, how the job is to be done from start to finish, and where the parts will be placed at the end of the process. This job is an full time indoor/ outdoor position that requires one's own automotive tools and a seasoned automotive experience & knowledge.

Tasks/Responsibilities/Expectations:

-Tasks include pulling smaller, less in depth parts out in the yard for stock, inspection, delivery and pickup

-Jobs will be given to you based on priority, one's own skill level, and with the expectation that it can be completed out in the field solely by the person it was assigned to

-Will be allowed to use a Yard Vehicle to transport parts throughout the facility. Yard Vehicles are a privilege and not a right

-Will be expected to maintain, take good care of and keep clean and organized the Yard Vehicle the employee is assigned.

-Will be expected to dismantle parts in a professional manner, as if you were to put the part(s) back together or re install

-Expected to keep each vehicle and the area surrounding it clean, clear and organized for all jobs assigned.

-Tasks include storing or proper disposing of hardware (screws, nuts & bolts), closing all doors, hoods, trunks and making sure all parts dismantled or taken out of any vehicle, go back safely and securely back into the correct vehicle it came out of.

-Must have your own automotive tools. Tools used to take off body parts, small engine & electrical parts and wheels. Will not be dismantling suspensions or complete drive train out in the field.

-Must have reliable means of transportation to and from work

-Automotive Experience is a plus and can be used to leverage starting pay

-Must be able to listen and follow directions

-Will train the right person, team player, motivated individual that wants to learn how we dismantle and share in company's vision preferred.

-Will need to know Passenger Side (RH) vs Driver Side (LH) as well as Front vs Rear.

-Multi Task & Cleaning Skills, & Attention to Detail desirable attributes of the Potential Hire.

Compensation is negotiable and starts at $17 / Hour. Business Hours are 8am-5pm Mon-FriExpected to start working at 8am, so arrival should be before then. Hour break for lunch and all time off needed needs to be communicated at least 24-48 hours before hand. The more advance notice the better. Upon employment, employee will receive employee handbook, safety program, and a specified job synopsis with detailed job title, job description, tasks/jobs & responsibilities list, and the company's expectations of that employee.
