Counter/Closer at Hungry Ghost Bread Thursday -Sunday beginning @ 2PM.

Purpose:
Sells bread & pastries
Navigates customer inquiries & interactions
Maintains an organized & clean bakery prep space
Shift end times vary daily
2pm-8pm closer hours
Qualifications:
Customer service experience
Food or retail sales experience
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Food service experience and skills such as food safety awareness and rotating stock
Preferred Qualifications:
Food preparation experience
Ability to lift 125lb with a partner
Responsibilities:
Shapes loaves alongside the shaping team
Performs closing cleaning tasks
Chops wood and kindling for the wood fired oven
Builds and maintains fire in the oven’s fire box. Sells bread and pastries to customers by bagging items and tendering payment
Navigates customer interaction on behalf of the bakery
Answers the phone and responds to customer questions
Maintains a clean and organized front counter area
Washes dishes for the bread & counter departments
Participates with other staff to prepare the baskets, couches, bread racks, and sheet pans as able throughout the day and ahead of shaping time
Working Conditions:
The bakery is indoors with a ramp up to the front door and four outdoor steps descending to the back door
Due to our wood fired bread oven, the bakery is always warm or hot and mild to moderately humid
Some private parking is available for staff, and the bakery is adjacent to many streets with metered parking
Daily bakery work involves standing, walking, bending down, heavy lifting, and fine motor tasks
