Architectural Millwork – CAD designer/ draftsman:
Custom architectural millwork shop specializing in reproduction wood windows, doors and
other custom millwork is looking for a CAD designer or draftsman. If you take pride in doing
high quality work, we would like to talk to you. This position will include the following
responsibilities and skills;
- Strong understanding of wood working materials and manufacturing methods
- 2 – 3 years minimum related experience in architectural millwork field
- Proven ability to read and interpret Architectural plans and specifications
- Layout of custom windows and doors using field measurements, photos and architectural
drawings to replicate historic millwork.
- Create shop drawings of windows, doors and other custom millwork using AutoCAD and
SketchUp software to create highly detailed and precise manufacturing shop drawings from
architectural plans and specifications.
- Work closely with in house estimators, project managers and shop personnel to bring designs
to completed production including modeling, construction and assembly drawings.
- Solid work habits – working efficiently in a fast paced environment, meeting deadlines,
working independently with minimum supervision; prioritizing work according to deadline
requirements and solid organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and working in a team environment
- Availability to travel for occasional field work.
- Occasional overtime is required.
