Seeking caring, compassionate volunteers to staff Samaritans' of FR/NB suicide prevention crisis hotline. Each volunteer participates in a 35-hour training program which includes working with a trained volunteer. Our next training session is in February. Volunteers are asked to cover a 5-hour shift or two 2.5 hour shifts weekly. A minimum of a 6-month commitment is expected.
Volunteers are also requested to participate in local health fairs on behalf of the agency.
Internship and work-study are offered to college students as well.
