DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead as a liaison with sales/specialists’ teams and customer segments administering all innovations at an expert level

Understand each MW innovation in depth, including how it works, why it works, and what benefit it is to MSC’s four stakeholders (Customers, Associates, Suppliers, Investors)

Employ strong interpersonal communication skills with an ability to persuade audiences (internal and external) to realize the value associated with all MW innovations

Engages in sales calls/meetings with the largest opportunities in the marketplace

Ensure MSC’s sales and specialist teams are capable of introducing each MW innovation, including proper positioning relative to customer value

Engages machine tool dealers in their territory to create awareness and engagement with MachineMax Pro and other MSC innovations`

Assists in the piloting of innovations MSC is developing or commercializing

Maintains detailed records of innovation specifics, customer goals, contacts & resources

Openly participates and contributes ideas and concepts for future innovation development

Offers detailed market landscape updates to ensure our current and future innovations clearly address our customers greatest manufacturing challenges

Present periodic status updates on, successes, interactions, opportunities, and threats for each assigned innovation within their region

Develops and uses detailed reporting to recognize trends in adoption, growth/decline, customer savings, MSC sales/profitability for any innovation

Supports as required any of MSC’s industry or government sponsored events (trade shows, NSF consortiums, ACE trainings)

Participates in various aspects of MRO Go, supporting Go See (CNA/BNA/Insights), Go Do (implementation of innovations), Go Save (assisting with monetizing value), and Go Again (CIR’s) with MSC’s largest customers and potential customers

Attends trainings intended to raise their level of expertise in metalworking applications, innovations

Completes all required MSC trainings in a timely fashion

Supports the MSC Culture within all the undertakings of internal and external customer engagement to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC’s mission

Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Technical metalworking product knowledge required

Minimum 5 years’ experience in application of metalworking solutions, or commensurate experience from advanced college degree

Demonstrate deep understanding of a broad range of manufacturing concepts

Mechanical Engineering education, experience or background preferred

Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred

SKILLS:

Very strong interpersonal communication (written, verbal and nonverbal) skills required for engaging from one to dozens of audience members

Ability to build relationships both inside and outside of MSC

Strong analytical and math skills are required

An understanding of the durable goods manufacturing marketplace

Excellent listener and learner

Willing to learn new concepts and ask questions

Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time may be required.

This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (“ITAR”) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (“CUI”).

Compensation starting at $79310 - $124630 depending on experience.The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
