We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Administrative Assistant to join our Pathology Department. This position supports the department by performing administrative tasks and transcription duties, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of pathology reports and effective coordination of department operations.Work Schedule: 4 days/week, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm or 5 days/week, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 2:30 pmWork Location: Lowell MABenefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. For more detailed information, please click here (https://careers.labcorp.com/global/en/us-rewards-and-wellness)Key Responsibilities:Administrative Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Pathology Department, handling phone calls, emails, and correspondence professionally. Manage and track pathology slides/ blocks, send-out testing, pending reports in appropriate computer systems. Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and conferences for departmental staff. Manage and maintain accurate patient records, departmental files, and other sensitive documentation in compliance with privacy regulations. Monitor and order office supplies, ensuring the department operates efficiently. Assist with reports for billing. Prepare and distribute agendas, meeting minutes, and other materials as needed. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and departmental information. Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to clarify unclear information or discrepancies.Other Duties: Assist with special projects or departmental initiatives as assigned.Qualifications:Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred. 1+ years of experience in administrative support or in a medical or healthcare setting, highly preferred.Skills and Abilities: Proficient in medical terminology, particularly in pathology, or willingness to learn. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office or laboratory setting.
