Job Responsibilities:
As a land surveyor instrument operator, the candidate will be responsible for the operation and setup of total stations, data collectors, GPS , GIS and other land surveying equipment to carry out land surveying including boundary line, topographic, construction stakeout and as-built surveys. The candidate will perform reconnaissance and recovery of property line and surveying markers. They must be able to navigate thick, difficult terrain, including woods, with survey equipment and also maintain and take proper care of survey equipment, including working in inclement weather. Candidate must be able to take clear field notes documenting all phases of work and communicate with other team members.
Qualifications:
Project Surveyor and survey crew chief experience with, or ability to learn, the use of robotic surveying instruments and GPS surveying equipment.
Ability to clearly communicate with team members in the field.
Ability to communicate results of field work with survey manager and office staff.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to lift and carry surveying equipment through difficult terrain.
Must have ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
