POSITION SUMMARY:

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive assistance to users encountering computer-related difficulties, including software errors, hardware malfunctions, and network connectivity issues. The specialist will address and resolve computer problems for clients through in-person interactions, telephone communications, or electronic means. Key responsibilities include setting up, maintaining, and repairing computer systems for employees across various departments. Additionally, the specialist will offer guidance on the usage of computer hardware and software, encompassing areas such as printing, installation, word processing, email, and operating systems. The IT Support Specialist is tasked with ensuring that all technical issues are addressed promptly and effectively, maintaining optimal operational continuity.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues to staff.

May require travel between local facilities.

Respond to technical queries in person or remotely and run diagnostic programs to isolate problems.

Set up, configure, and maintain computers, printers, scanners, and peripheral equipment.

Manage user accounts and access controls based on company policies.

Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems on PCs and servers, and networking principles (TCP/IP).

Familiarity with network support, server maintenance, and user account management.

Excellent organizational and project coordination skills.

Ability to handle high-pressure situations and provide clear technical guidance to non-technical staff.

Customer service oriented with a strong desire to assist colleagues with technical issues.

Experience supporting teleconferencing, and VoIP phone systems.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

The IT Support Specialist reports to the Chief Intelligence Officer and must maintain good relationships with all other Sterling employees, vendors, and customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This job may require lifting of objects that exceed twenty-five (25) pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows:

Hearing

Seeing – Near Vision

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required.

2+ years of experience providing I.T. support and troubleshooting technical issues.

Experience in Microsoft 365 Administration is a plus.

Demonstrates proficiency in both written and spoken English, capable of effectively communicating information clearly and concisely to all audiences.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.75 - $27.75 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
