Direct Care Staff - Phoenix Rising Program - Full-Time

Job Summary:

Direct Care staff at Centerboard’s Youth Service Campus play a key role in supporting and guiding residents. This position requires creating a trauma-informed environment and providing emotional and behavioral support to youth. You'll foster a safe, structured space while teaching healthy coping strategies for stress and anxiety. A large part of the role involves documentation, crisis management, and building positive relationships with youth and coworkers. You’ll also help with daily living activities and advocate for residents in meetings and appointments. Due to the population being served in this program, we are seeking female applicants only.

Key Responsibilities:

- Document shift activities, incidents, and resident progress.

- Provide direct support to residents in life skills, transportation, and daily tasks.

- Lead group and 1:1 sessions to prepare youth for adulthood.

- Ensure safety and security, including conducting room searches, fire drills, and drug tests.

- Cook meals, plan activities, and support youth health and medical needs.

- Transport youth to appointments, field trips, and other activities.

- Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure a positive, supportive environment.

Overnight Shift Responsibilities:

- Conduct 15-minute checks on all residents and maintain building security.

- Clean and prepare the facility for the next day.

- Stay awake during the shift and provide morning transportation for residents.

Qualifications:

- High School diploma required; experience in residential settings preferred.

- Strong communication, organization, and crisis management skills.

- Valid driver’s license and willingness to transport youth.

- Ability to build positive, healthy relationships with youth and coworkers.

Training Requirements:

- Mandatory attendance in compliance training (CPR, Trauma-Informed Care, Medication Administration, etc.)

- Must maintain certifications and complete ongoing professional development.

- This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of youth.
