Driver’s Helper/Labor

Sterling Corporation is one of the largest, providers of logistics and commercial moving services in New England and the Greater Boston area.

We are looking for laborers to assist our truck drivers with making deliveries and pickups. Candidates must be in good physical shape and able to lift 50 to 100 lbs. on a regular basis. Prior moving or freight experience is a plus! You should have good customer service skills with a professional attitude and demeanor. Applicants must be able to speak, read and write English. Must have flexibility to work an early start ( 6:00 or 7:00 AM) with variable end time.

Job responsibilities include:

Assisting driver with any requested task that is asked – to include safe and proper handling of goods and equipment during delivery and pickup.

Calling in updates for deliveries and pick ups to the call-in line. Assisting driver with paperwork to organize and ensure all appropriate signatures are obtained.

Reading maps or using GPS to find best routes to Driver’s stops.

Alert and assist with driver blind spots and exiting truck to assist with back ups.

Calling and/or texting customers and dispatch to advise of any updates or schedule delays.
