Hello!

We are a small Ob/Gyn office located in Medford with a diverse set of patients who come from many different cultural backgrounds. We are looking for a new medical assistant to join our office team. This is mixed medical assistant/medical receptionist position that involves checking in patients, assisting with pap smears and minor office procedures, turning over rooms as well as scheduling ultrasounds and coordinating care. Other duties will evolve over time as one becomes more familiar with the office flow. Additional core responsibilities are listed below.

We are looking for someone with a strong sense of professionalism as well as a positive and friendly attitude as we work together to care for patients.

Candidate should:

- have strong customer service and interpersonal skills

- be both a team player and be able to work independently

- possess solid communication skills, both written and verbal

- have strong organizational abilities and attention to detail

Initial duties include but are not limited to:

- Setting up rooms in morning

- Checking in patients (blood pressure, weight, updating demographic information)

- Assisting doctor in exam room (pap smears, biopsies, etc)

- Filling in test forms (bloodwork, pap smear, biopsy, ultrasound, mammogram, surgery booking forms, etc)

- Stocking exam rooms with supplies

- End of day clean-up, bringing trash at end of day

- Scheduling, filing and faxing, scanning

- Appointment reminder calls for following week

- General office organization and up-keep

(We do not do phlebotomy in this office)

As assistant becomes more familiar with office, higher level duties include:

- Answering phones - appointments, new patients (requires knowledge of health insurance and referrals)

- Other duties as directed by physician

Experience not required. Willing to train right candidate who has strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Hours needed:

Monday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Tuesday 8:30am - 5:00pm

Wednesday 8:30am - 2:30pm (flexible end time)

(Approximately 20-22 hours/week)

There is some flexibility with the hours depending on what is preferred by the applicant
