What is a CHW?
A Community Health Worker (CHW) is someone who helps people in their community stay healthy and get the care they need. CHWs often have a strong connection to the people they serve because they come from the same background or understand their challenges.
CHWs share health information in ways people can understand, help them find doctors or services, and speak up for their needs. They’re trusted helpers who make it easier for people to get support—especially when things like language, culture, or lack of access make it hard to get care.
Program Highlights:
80 hours of MA DPH-certified CHW Core Competency training
$800 stipend and free lunch during sessions
