Position Summary:
Cooks and serves nutritionally balanced, visually appealing, good tasting meals for residential clients, day clients and staff. Maintains the cleanliness, organization and inventory of all kitchen areas. Meals need to cater to vegans, vegetarians, and options of a land protein and a sea protein. Flexibility with working hours. Options could include 9:30am-5:30pm or 8am-6pm.
Qualifications Required:
Minimum 5 years of experience in the field
Experienced in (or is passionate about) preparing Keto Diet/Metabolic Wellness inspired meals
Qualifications Desired:
B.S. Degree in Culinary Arts, Culinary Nutrition, Nutrition Sciences or a related field
ServSafe Certification preferred
Formal culinary training preferred
Strong preference to those with formal nutrition training
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Preparing breakfast on an as needed basis
Preparing lunch, a snack, and dinner for fifteen to twenty people
Grocery shopping for meals, snacks and special food requests
Cleaning of the kitchen and all necessary equipment
Providing healthy, well balanced and appropriately portioned meals
Preparing meals based on allergy information and special dietary restrictions
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs, must be able to work on their feet 7.5 -10 hours per day excluding breaks, must be able to work under pressure and time deadlines, must have a valid Driver’s License, clean driver's record and a reliable automobile
Work Environment: Most work is performed indoors in the kitchen setting
