Looking for a new start at a brand new restaurant with a great restaurant group? Do you want to grow your culinary skills around seasonality, keeping it simple and supporting local fishermen, oystermen and farmers? The newly opened Oysterman in Scituate is looking to add a line cook to bolster its current amazing culinary team. The line cook is responsible for working a station as a member of said team. The stations on the line are your basic saute, grill, pantry, hot apps, cold apps and of course being able to shuck an oyster and clam doesn't hurt either. The ideal candidate is organized, has a sense of urgency, the ability to multitask, and above all else, PASSION for cooking and never ending eagerness to learn. Great attitudes, enthusiasm, willingness to learn, amazing work ethic and an absolute passion for food in an ego free environment is what will make you successful here. We can teach and cultivate the cooking aspect but we can not teach having a great attitude, dependability and punctuality. If you invest your time and efforts here then we return the favor by investing in your growth and career by putting you in the best position to succeed. The seafood driven menu is designed around local fisherman that are docking in downtown Scituate and oysters and clams from the Duxbury Oyster Company (Prince Caspians, Scituate Sailors, Beer Money). Take pride in executing meticulous dishes like Sole en Papillote using sole right from the local fishermen in Scituate Harbor, or Strawberry & Bibb Salads with Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette all of the way to Cereal Milk French Toast & Avocado Toasts for brunch while supporting local purveyors.

Some Basic Qualifications for the job besides what was already was stated:

prep, set up and break down of a station, work service, and help clean the kitchen at the end of service

Responsible for maintaining standards already in place

Work efficiently, neatly, and willing to improve on the job

Work on an incredible team to meet the challenge of high standards and high volume

Attention to food safety protocols and maintaining a clean, safe workspace

Ability to properly execute recipes

We are located right across the street from the Greenbush commuter rail, plenty of employee parking. The Oysterman Scituate is opened 7 days a week from 4pm-10pm Monday through Friday and 11am-10pm on Saturday and Sunday. There is ample opportunity for growth for the right candidates.
