Seeking assistant innkeeper for owner/innkeeper of historic
boutique bed and reakfast in Cambridge.
-We are one of the more highly rated and reviewed original true B&Bs in this area because
of our personal and unique service and characteristics.
-We have several return guests who we get to know and that trust us and appreciate what we offer.
We are not a commercial establishment, therefore no front desk and owner always takes care of the bookings and schedule. No need for answering phone, talking with potential guest inquiries, etc. Interest/ability/experience with some light cooking and following recipes. (This is not a job for a gourmet chef or someone looking to primarily hone their culinary skills, nor are we looking for a front desk person.)
Ultimately and potentially able to run the daily on-site operation for the innkeeper from 2 days to a few weeks when the owner/innkeeper needs or wants to be away.
Requirements:
-Trustworthy with good references.
-Positive attitude.
-Fluent in English.
-Personable, with professional appearance on days when may be meeting public.
You would be part of the face of the business.
-Atuned to aesthetics and atmosphere.
-Ability to turn over a room/suite in a timely manner after shadowing for a day or two.
Shows pride in following detailed instructions to a tee, rather than just doing things your own way.
Please note: This is for a part-time position, Now through November. No two weeks and schedule will/can be the same. It all depends on our bookings. It's just the nature of this business. Typically, the work needs to be accomplished between mid-morning and 3 p.m. Some early morning availability would be helpful, especially on Sundays. (Not required to serve breakfast on a daily breakfast, unless owner is away for short periods.) Could combine well with someone who has a night or evening job, as well.
Familiarity with the Boston metro area is also a plus when the need may arise to direct guests
or conversing helpfully about the city.
