SR. POST-AWARD OFFICER, Sponsored Programs, Research Accounting

Oversee major sponsored project awards.

Serve as the focal point between the sponsoring agency and the Principal Investigator in the fiscal administration of grants and contracts.

Review proposal budgets, keeping abreast with a variety of constantly changing federal regulations.

Monitor fiscal performance on awards.

Prepare final financial reports of expenditures.

Initiate grant closeout process.

Assist and instruct Principal Investigator(s) and their staff in grant management procedures.

Handle billing and collecting and resolve over expenditure problems.

Perform a variety of analytical and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with accounting principles, sponsor requirements, federal and state guidelines and University policies.

Required Skills

B.A./B.S. Desired.

Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Self-starter, diplomatic, pro-active, and able to adapt and advance knowledge of skills, methods, practices, policies and/or procedures and a moderate degree of innovation, analysis and reasoning to complete work that is project-oriented and involves complex problems and/or decisions.

One to three years of related experience.
