AECOM is actively seeking a Signal Systems Engineer to join our World Class Rail Team in our Boston, MA office. The candidate shall use their experience in the design and implementation of the following train control systems to include: Communication Based Train Control (CBTC), Positive Train Control (PTC), Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Protection (ATP), Automatic Train Operation (ATO), Solid State Interlocking (SSI), Cab Signaling, Digital Tack Circuit Systems and conventional block signaling systems. This candidate will support transit and rail projects, including the design, implementation, and modification of train control and signaling systems. This position requires expertise in signal engineering, systems integration, and safety-critical applications for freight and or passenger rail operations. The selected candidate will work with engineering teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure the successful deployment of signaling solutions in compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.The role involves analyzing, designing, and commissioning fixed-block and automatic block signaling systems, with an emphasis on track circuit integration, interlocking logic, and grade crossing automation. The candidate will also assist in reviewing and modifying vital logic software for system enhancements.The selected candidate will work with internal design teams and client personnel to develop functional and detailed designs for new and existing signal systems, ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop, implement, and validate innovative signaling solutions for intricate rail systems.
