Senior Technical Accountant

The Opportunity:Flywire is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to assist in revenue recognition and various technical accounting matters to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and internal & external audits. This role will report to our Director of Revenue Recognition and Technical Accounting.The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. In addition, a successful candidate must have the ability to operate effectively in a rapidly scaling and dynamic environment.Key Responsibilities:Review customer revenue contracts to determine and document the appropriate revenue recognition to be appliedPartner with Legal, Sales, Gross Margin Ops, and serve as the accounting point of contact on revenue recognition, and assist in contract structuringAssist with ad hoc technical projects as needed (e.g., business combinations, debt issuance, equity transactions, and lease transactions etc.).Prepare technical accounting analyses and documentation for complex accounting issues and provide accounting consultation advice to the relevant business partners.Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.Assist with certain monthly and quarterly close activities and support operational teams with accounting matters as the subject matter expert.Prepare relevant internal control documentation for responsible areas and ensure compliance with SOX policies.Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results
