You will join a team of hardworking, security-focused individuals dedicated to supporting, protecting, and enabling the business through innovative, secure solutions that provide speed to market and business value.The opportunityWe are seeking a Support Engineer to work with SIEM technologies. This role will involve joining a global team responsible for supporting our solutions and services across our EY multi-cloud and on-premises environments. You will collaborate closely with Security Architects, Security Service Delivery, Security Engineering, and Information Security teams to enable security solutions and services across various Security Domains, as well as global EY teams and technologies. Additionally, the Support Engineer will be responsible for coordinating upgrades, standardizing processes, and automating procedures for Information Security technologies. The job requires familiarity with ITIL service management practices, managing changes, releases, and upgrades in different environments, and being available on-call to work during weekends and off-hours to ensure the smooth functioning of the systems.Your key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and analyze incidents related to Information Security technologies.

Articulate technology issues/concerns that may emerge at any level of the technical stack, and from any component across the ecosystem, to technology leaders

Support security solutions and services following all relevant EY standards and practices for On-Premise, Hybrid and Cloud-Based environments.

Provide detailed input into the implementation, and testing of security solutions and services for large, complex projects from initial design to completion which includes production support and documentation.

Apply modern standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, security standards, design standards, to security solutions and services as appropriate.

Improve existing security solutions and services in use by partnering with Security Architecture, STS Service Owner, and Security Engineering. Drives automation and innovation across the security solutions supported.

Identify the root cause of incidents, whether it be configuration or a defect. Ensure that incidents are resolved in a timely and efficient manner and that steps are taken to prevent future problems.

Work with various technical teams to develop corrective actions or workarounds to resolve incidents.

Develop implementation plans for complex change requests, evaluating risks to system availability, business dependencies, and security event visibility.

Respond to automated alerts on system health using sound analytical and troubleshooting methods.

Conduct routine maintenance and monitoring of security technologies and report on their status.

Communicate operational support issues to executives and senior management.

Upgrade security applications to the latest versions, which involves testing, validation, compatibility, and addressing security vulnerabilities.

Recommend and implement improvements to system performance and uptime for security applications and products.

Document procedures for responding to alerts and drive the creation of automated restoration steps.

Drive automation of redundant activities to improve support efficiency.

Flexible to work out of regular office hours to accommodate the team and organizational calls and meetings. Weekend or late-night work may occur during the project and early life cycle support phases.

No direct supervisory responsibilities, however, Technical Leadership required within assigned services and solutions.

Skills and Attributes for SuccessWe are seeking candidates who possess security experience in implementing and supporting solutions within a large enterprise environment. To be considered for the position, you must have functional, technical, and delivery experience in implementing both Cloud and On-Premises SIEM technologies.

Skills in supporting complex security solutions and services in a very large enterprise.

Technical knowledge implementing and supporting security SIEM solutions within multi-cloud environments such Azure, AWS, GCP or similar technologies including:

Experience working with Microsoft Sentinel and data ingestion methods including native data connector integration, Syslog and CEF, Sentinel Data Connector API and Custom logging

Data retention options within Sentinel Platform

Azure RBAC as it applies to Microsoft Sentinel and Log Analytics Workspaces, at Tenant, Subscription, Resource and Table Level.

Knowledge in integrating multi-Cloud logs with Microsoft Sentinel

Experience with KQL query language and KQL Functions

Knowledge of Analytic rules, Logic Apps, Azure Function, and other cloud service workflow tools

Experience with Splunk Enterprise Security and Splunk Architecture a plus.

Project management experience, including tracking timelines and performing tasks within project deadlines.

Detail-oriented and organized

Ability to enhance applications for improved performance and stability, including enhanced monitoring and automation.

Knowledge of ITIL to drive compliance in Incident, Problem, and Change processes.

Communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal and able to communicate technical concepts effectively

Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to work within tight timeframes

Rapidly learn new and emerging technologies with ability to rapidly define engineering standards

To qualify for the role, you must have

Approximately 5+ years of experience in Security, including demonstratable knowledge of SIEM technologies and working knowledge of SIEM platforms

Several years’ experience working in a large global virtual environment and enterprise environments at scale

Technical proficiency in Azure, Google and/or AWS Cloud services, hybrid, and on-premises security solutions including Linux and Windows Operating Systems

Technical proficiency with SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS solutions.

Understanding of other technologies required to run a secure, enterprise level infrastructure that adhere to security best practices

Excellent time management, organizational, and decision-making skills

Ability to design and document processes, procedures, and security designs clearly and accurately for distribution to internal teams and customers

Demonstrated experience in dealing with external vendors and suppliers in the security industry

Technical knowledge with interacting with APIs and scripting tools (Python, Ansible, PowerShell, etc.)

Ideally, you’ll also have

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.

ITIL v4 Foundation Certification

Involvement in large-scale global IT deployments or cloud migrations

At least one technical certification from a public cloud provider such as Azure, AWS, or Google, and security certifications from ISC2 (CISM, CISSP, CCSP, etc.) or SANS/GIAC (GSEC, GCLD, GPCS, etc.).

Experience in project management, service introduction, and service readiness.

What we offerThe compensation ranges below are provided in order to comply with United States pay transparency laws. Other geographies will follow their local salary guidelines, which may not be a direct conversion of published US salary range/s. We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for this job in most geographic locations in the US is $126,800 to $230,100. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $152,200 to $261,500. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
