SCIENTIST BOSTON, MA Required Skills:

  • B.S/MS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related Biological Sciences with at least 2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Strong technical background in molecular biology including cloning, vector engineering and in-vitro transcription.
  • Experienced in bacterial and eukaryotic cell culture.
  • The candidate must have expertise in molecular biology (cloning, Gibson assembly, PCR, Sanger sequencing), in-vitro transcription (IVT) and eukaryotic cell culture.
  • Molecular biology skills including transformations and transfections.
  • Western blotting(nice to have) and gel electrophoresis.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, proficient reasoning and problem-solving skills in experimental data analysis and interpretation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a strong sense of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Basic flow cytometry assay experience is a plus.
  • Experience with luminescent or fluorescent reporter-based assays desirable.
  • Previous work with RNA a plus.
  • Mammalian cell culture experience is nice to have.
  • Sequencing editing software.
  • Basic MS office skills.
Project Description:
  • We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our client's highly innovative and multidisciplinary Cell Line Development team to support biologics drug development.
  • The primary responsibility for this position will be to perform cloning, in-vitro transcription and in-vitro and cell-based characterization assays on transfected cells.
  • Cloning, screening, sequencing, plasmid preparations and in-vitro transcription.
  • Cell culture and transfections.
  • Perform characterization assays post-transfection.
  • Generation and characterization of protein expressing stable pools.
  • Work independently to execute experiments, process data and analysis, and help develop SOPs.
  • Efficient communication of results and proposing next steps to team members and project teams.
  • Record all work and results in laboratory notebooks.
