The Artisanal Cheese & Salumi Department at Eataly is referred to as the Salumi & Formaggi (SAFO) Department and is home to more than 500+ of the highest quality cheeses and cured meats specially sourced from Italy, internationally and locally. Many of them are entirely exclusive to Eataly. The SAFO Manager helps oversee the receipt, production and sales of Eataly’s SAFO products. The Assistant Manager creates and slices guests’ purchases, packages products and ensures that products meet quality standards. Reports to the SAFO Manager; supervises the Meat Slicers and Cheesemongers.Engages directly with guests and provides outstanding customer service: makes suggestions, weighs, labels and packages productsAssists with directing staff to ensure that guest service standards are consistently metPrepares food neatly and accurately according to food handling, safety and sanitation standardsStocks counters and display refrigerators, ensuring all foods are merchandised attractivelyPerforms other duties as required or assigned
