Metering Technician

 POSITION PURPOSE: Under general supervision from the Metering Supervisor or other assigned supervisor, the Metering Technician will perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, repairs, tests and programs electronic and mechanical meters for uses.PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: Respond to service orders concerning customers, including equipment change-outs, device commissioning, and system troubleshooting.Use specific software to commission/program electronic/thermal/water meters, and remote data collection hardware, and complete all relevant paperwork associated with the assignment.Coordinate electrician presence onsite and execute project micro-management upon completion—follow up on any new opportunities.Communicate with customers, contractors, and co-workers, and respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.Perform other duties as required including occasional drawing reviews/updates, tenant surveys, and occasional meter reading.Partake in department workflow, stay aware of ongoing projects, and assist when necessary. Other duties as assigned.
