Our rolling stock portfolio covers a full range of vehicles including light rail vehicles, locomotives, trainsets and high-speed rail.Position Overview:We are seeking a high-impact, successful Director of Business Development to work with existing and prospective customers in the passenger rail business. This critical role will be accountable for the direction and execution of plans to strengthen and deepen the relationship between existing and prospective customers and Siemens. This role will report to the Vice President of Business Development, Rail Systems.The Director of Business Development will establish and lead sales engagements, develop, and implement management/growth strategies, and expand the pipeline of partners and solutions for Siemens with customers in the region. This individual will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, leading teams and proposal activities for sophisticated acquisitions.What you will be doing: Targeting specific new opportunities by deepening and broadening relationships. Strengthening the overall relationship between Siemens and existing passenger rail customers to ensure ongoing partnership. Acting as the primary point of contact at Siemens to simplify and streamline the process. Program planning and execution of pre and post-sales activities. Provide insight to executive management on program execution activities, status, and issues. Identify new business opportunities and partner relationships. Track the status of strategic procurements and teaming activities.What you will need to be successful: Minimum of 10 years experience in program management, government affairs, business development, or key account management roles at sophisticated organizations. Direct experience in the industrial, technology, transit or engineering sectors with a particular focus on transportation/trains is desirable. Must have a knowledge and understanding of government contracting, and acquisition. Strong and capable leadership skills with an emphasis on teamwork, virtual team management, and cross-organization communications. Highly evolved network of professional contacts and colleagues in both industry and government. The base salary range for this remote position in is $154,400 - $209,000. This is a commission-based sales role with a target bonus of 30%.
