ARCHITECTURAL JOB CAPTAIN

db2 Architects, Inc, a firm conveniently located in Woburn, MA, is looking for an Job Captain to join our studio.

This position requires teamwork, flexibility, and an awareness of all studios dynamics. The work involves aggressive schedules, and requires “coordinated effort“ by all team members. Our work currently includes residential, commercial & retail areas.

The successful candidate will be goal-oriented, independently motivated, a quick learner, and comfortable sharing their design work with the team and our clients.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (BArch)

Minimum of 5 years of related work experience under the direct supervision of a Registered Architect.

Enrollment in NCARB’s Intern Development Program, is strongly encouraged and will be supported by the firm.

TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

5 years minimum architectural design, presentation and construction document preparation.

Experience with project management and consultant and client coordination

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Studio, Sketch up, and other design software

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of building codes and regulations

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in ArchitectureLEED certification is a plus

KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must proficiently serve in the following capacities throughout the architectural project:

Independently draft CAD drawings from conceptual design sketches & field notes.

May be required to prepare presentation drawings and/or 3D renderings, as needed.

Develop design and construction documents for bidding and construction.

Site surveys, field measuring of existing conditions, and create base drawings.

Assist the Project Lead during the Construction Administration Phase, developing field sketches or drawings as required to serve the Project; receiving and transmitting Submittals and Shop Drawings to appropriate parties.
