Responsibilities:
Promote and maintain health by delivering high-quality physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
Conduct evaluations on new patients to assess their physical condition and develop appropriate treatment plans.
Contribute to the effectiveness of the physical therapy team by identifying patient care issues and providing valuable insights.
Administer treatment programs for patients according to established protocols and individualized care plans.
Assess patient health through interviews, physical examinations, and review of therapy histories.
Evaluate abnormal conditions by analyzing physical therapist’s interpretations of patient evaluations and test results.
Document patient care services accurately and thoroughly in patient and department records.
Perform therapeutic procedures, including manual exercises, and provide guidance and assistance to patients in performing physical activities.
Assist patients in using supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, and promote wellness and health maintenance.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, regulations, and infection-control policies and protocols.
Monitor treatment trends and ensure compliance with production objectives.
Maintain legal and accreditation compliance by following federal, state, and local regulations, as well as JACHO standards.
Stay updated on industry advancements and best practices through participation in educational opportunities, reading periodicals, maintaining personal networks, and engaging with professional organizations.
Enhance the reputation of the physical therapy department by taking ownership of new challenges and seeking opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
