AVIAN is seeking a Small UAS Test Operator to build, maintain, repair, and operate small unmanned aircraft systems (SUAS), Group 1&2 (under 55 lbs) of all types, including fixed and rotary wing, electric and liquid fueled. The candidate will operate in a highly dynamic developmental test environment on shore and onboard all types of vessel and operate manually and in semi-autonomous modes, including first person view. We are not in the market of automated transactions; we build lasting relationships.Responsibilities:Build up new SUAS systems upon delivery

Modify new or existing SUAS for test purposes, including airframe (carbon fiber, metal, foam, plastic, wood), mechanical and electrical changes

Maintain systems, including repairs due to damage

Launch, fly and recover SUAS of all types including rotary wing and fixed wing up to 55 lbs

Prep SUAS for shipping, conduct detachments to remote sites for test and demonstration periods; work with test engineers to devise test procedures and document deficiencies.

Qualifications: Active Secret Clearance.

Active FAA Class 2 medical certificate (at time of hire).

FAA Part 107 airman?s certificate desired but not required.

Five years of experience flying SUAS and 500 hours documented time in any SUAS required

RC flying experience required

Military experience with SUAS highly desired but not required.

Education:High school diploma or equivalent.

Military training/schools for UAV maintenance and operations desired.

FAA Part 107 certification desired but not required.
