Component Level Test Technician IV (Navy Combat Systems)

Job DescriptionThe selected candidate will apply standard practices and techniques in electronic, mechanical, or other disciplines in providing support for ongoing technical programs. Work will consist of performing depot level overhaul/refurbishment of AIMS MKXII/MKIIA Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) equipment by inspecting, testing, adjusting, and certifying basic assemblies and systems for compliance with specifications and quality assurance practices; repairing malfunctions by adjusting, calibrating, aligning, or modifying circuitry using hand or power tools; setting up standard test apparatus and conducting operational tests: installing basic equipment field changes; and performing other duties as assigned. Will remove and replace both through hole and Surface Mount Technology (SMT) components.Candidate will travel 10-20% of the time to assist with shipboard/shore based system installations and test events. Tasking will involve, but is not limited to, climbing aloft to perform antenna maintenance and lifting/carrying heavy objects. Candidate will travel to ship location and complete assigned tasks which may require extended hours or weekends to support installations and test events. Will assist technicians of all skill levels, performing evaluation, testing, and integration of Combat Identification equipment including Mark XII and Mark XIIA, and related technical duties. Will work closely with BAE Systems personnel, subcontractors, and on site Government customers.The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable.
