Description:Looking for a candidate to work as a SW tester/ SW technician and be responsible for the testing and integration of SW/ HW systems for a Laboratory Information System (LIS). This includes manual SW testing for maintenance, improvement, and programming of software and hardware systems used in the laboratory.
Learn and implement new assays or assay modifications in/on all systems, as tasked by the Team Lead.
Interact with appropriate parties for the development, testing and validation of any software used in the laboratory.
Role does include some customer interaction and interaction with various vendors to the company. This is approximately 5 hrs/ week of customer-facing interactions.
Assist with the development, testing, and validation of any programs requiring software code, including but not limited to the LIS and others as needed.
Troubleshoot network connection issues for the SW/ HW.
Input results of SW test campaigns into an data repository for analysis and compiling. They utilize a JIRA system for CM/ data.
Produce deliverables and complete programming and testing to achieve product success within a specified timeframe.
Implement corrective action for any system issues, as directed by a lead.
Manage all versions of databases (ex. LIVE and TRAIN for the LIS).
Manage new user logins and retire old login credentials.

A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related technical degree would be a nice to have but not required. An Associates degree or related certification programs would also be a plus but experience can outweigh formal education.
0-3 yrs of related experience. Should have some working or internship experience to draw upon.
Must have skills or experience with:
Software testing/ Software QA - Ideally manual testing
Detail oriented and self-motivated.
Soft skills for presentations/ customer responsiveness, effective communications.
Organized and makes systematic use of project management and version control tools. Can be trained up on the system they use (JIRA)
Ability to multi-task and to prioritize work in order to meet required deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with healthcare-based integrations Mirth, or other EMR or EHR connections.
Any exposure or experience with software development/ programming.
Any exposure/ experience with biotech, biology based science, laboratory settings, pharma / drug/ medical industry, etc.
