Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the non-profit industry located in North Bethesda, Maryland. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with processing the accounting and reporting functions of our organization's books and records. You will be working with computerized accounting systems and will be expected to identify anomalies and report them to the Accounting Manager. The role is 3 days a week in office. Responsibilities: Oversee daily data input into our automated bill pay solution, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Review all entries for proper coding, documentation, timeliness, and adherence to our financial policies. Monitor the processing of vendor payments and employee expense reimbursements to ensure timeliness. Maintain vendor list and ensure proper setup, approval routes, and accurate account, department, and project code setup. Enforce staff compliance with our disbursement policies. Generate status reports regularly and address any delays or issues. Ensure accurate 1099 reporting at year end. Assist in the monthly close process, preparing general reconciliations for various accounts including cash, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, etc. Be proactive in identifying discrepancies and bringing them to the attention of the Accounting Manager.All interested candidates in this Staff Accountant opportunity and other fulltime opportunities in Accounting Operations please send your resume to Ian Gainor via LinkedIn.
