Our wide breadth of technologies and capabilities allows us to provide our customers with unique “More than Moore” solutions.The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking Systems Engineer to join our team and develop these technologies into high-performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.Responsibilities:

Leads a team of teams responsible for integration and setup of a Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) system within a standalone network.

Responsible for technical execution, escalation of issues, and providing team direction and clarity.

Responsible for solution design and architecture to fit within the needs of the Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA) business area.

Collaborates with the program manager to ensure technical execution is aligned to the program strategy.

Produces technical artifacts such as briefing material, architectures, Concept of Operations, requirements, etc.

Creates risk mitigation and opportunity pursuit plans with the program manager as well as improvement suggestions for technical efficiency.

Responsible for bringing best known methods (BKMs) from semiconductor / microelectronics industry into the technical plan while balancing the unique aspects of manufacturing in an R&D environment.

Lead trade studies, perform basis of estimates, and collect high level requirements for additional components.

Lead point of contact for vendor cross talk with technical problems, integration, and/or acceptance plans.

Facilitate manufacturing systems release and deployment to the business.

Applies systems engineering best practices, principles, and concepts to architectures within a manufacturing context.

Serves as a role model and sets the example, whose behavior is emulated by other engineering team members.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 9 years of experience.

Experience with modern automated factory systems in a semiconductor or microelectronics fab.

Able to drive execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work cross organization.

Experience with manufacturing KPIs, cost estimates, work breakdown structures, and continuous improvement experience.

Experience in briefing technical content to executives, customers, and key stakeholders.

Strong understanding of software programming, concepts of Software Engineering or Systems Engineering specifically software integration.

Experience with supplier engagement and facilitation of supplier development and risk reduction activities.

Willing to work in a Manufacturing environment (Example: Semiconductor Clean room) for intermittent periods to support Machine related software check out, System Integration Testing, etc.

Experience with modern automated manufacturing execution systems such as 300works, SiView, Critical Manufacturing, Eyelit, or another semiconductor industry MES.

Strong organizational and project management skills.

Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required.

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor’s or master’s degree or higher in materials science engineering, industrial engineering, computer science, or systems engineering.

Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance.

Familiarity with Design of Experiment (DOE), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and 6 sigma concepts for process development.

Experience in high volume automated manufacturing microelectronics or semiconductor fabs.

Experience with Request for Proposal (RFP) input specifically as it relates to Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) requirements such as tooling, capital equipment and/or new process development.

Able to explain in detail advanced process control systems such as fault detection, recipe management, statistical process control, automated data collection, etc,

Understands the differences in data representation between products, plans, recipes, and varying levels of manufacturing containers (lots, wafers, die, etc.).

Has worked with Applied Materials SmartFactory Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) solution.

Salary Range: $174,800 - $274,700The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
