This position is for our summer pool season. Starting at $14./ $15.00 per hour, pay is based on experience and level of certification.
Primary Responsibilities
Be responsible. Show up on time for every shift. A day that someone is late means more work has to be done in a short amount of time.
Be attentive. The smallest changes can have a large impact and it’s up to employees to notice these signs and act accordingly. Maintain clear and complete records.
Be prepared. Always being ready is essential to being a lifeguard. This can be true of all The Meadows pool staff. Having a calm and quick response makes all the difference.
Be friendly and approachable. Whether you are a lifeguard or snack shack staff, it’s a guest-facing job that requires good communication skills and a willingness to speak with our members.
Be courteous. Anyone inside the pool enclosure should be treated with respect, regardless of whether they are members, guest and other employees.
Daily Responsibilities
Checklists - The daily checklists (used for opening and closing) should be completed on a daily basis
Trash - Trash should be removed several times daily to keep bees and insects away from the pool area.
Chemicals & Record Keeping - Local health department regulations require that a log of the chemical readings at each pool be maintained for the summer.
Employee Expectations
Always follow the rules and regulations set forth in your American Red Cross or equivalent life guarding handbook.
All employees should arrive to work at their scheduled time.
All employees should wear their staff shirt at all times while on duty.
All employees are responsible for pool area clean throughout the day.
Lifeguards are required to keep the pool clean and clear throughout the day
Know the pool rules and enforce them consistently. You are responsible for everyone’s safety and are a role model for children whether you realize it or not.
