REQ#: RQ70936Travel Required: 25-50% Public Trust: None Requisition Type: Regular General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opportunity for Network Architect with the following duties and responsibilitiesincluded (but not limited to):
- Build a greenfield network in a multiple security domain that has the ability to scale.
- Design end to end network (LAN/MAN/CAN/WAN) in support of the transport of a variety of traffic types that have different network bandwidth, latency, and jitter requirements (e.g. bulk data transfer, VOIP, Video conferencing, device health telemetry, etc).
- Define long haul carrier service requirements and act as primary technical POC supporting the acquisition and provisioning of long haul carrier services.
- Ensure design is compatible with DoD security and information assurance requirements and has high probability of being granted an Authorization to Operate (ATO.)
- Analyzes customer requirements and solves unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative.
- Provides expert knowledge for upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
- Provides expert knowledge for network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
- Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
- Creates plans and configures systems for data communication networks.
- Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- Maintains current and advanced knowledge of progressive and advancing technology as assigned.
- Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
- Provides expert guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
- May serve as a task or project leader. (Not a people manager)
- Consults with executives and customers to deliver complex network solutions.
- Recognized as an industry leader in a specific technology.
- Position Requires a TS/SCI (DCID 6/4 eligible) clearance is required for this position. The candidate also needs to be willing to take a CI polygraph. Employment will be contingent until candidate is deemed eligible for SAP access by the government customer.
- CompTIA IAT II Certification required.
- Possession of a 4-year degree or equivalent experience with 20+ years' experience, preferred.
- Travel 25%.
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to translate conceptual requirements into business and functional requirements.
