Assistant, Business DevelopmentCity/Country Location Details Bethesda, MarylandEmployment StatusJob Type CorporateJob Title/Grade: Assistant, Business DevelopmentDepartment: Business DevelopmentReports to: Director, USG Business Development CentralDate : May 20, 2024Function of the Position:This position supports the Business Development department by providing administrative, operational and proposal coordination support.This is a full-time, permanent position.Roles and Responsibilities:Administrative Services: Support business development (BD) department by providing administrative, operational, and logistical support, including: processing proposal funding requests (capture strategies/BAPs) and generating billing codes; processing external consultant paperwork; auditing expense reports for accuracy; coordinating the distribution of procurement documents throughout the company; handling logistics for business development meetings (reserving rooms and technology resources, preparing agendas, taking and distributing notes); maintaining files and logs, including those for capture strategies, proposal codes, and internal tools and templates; updating and maintaining the Acquisitions section of DAI Connect in coordination with DAI’s technology department; providing administrative and logistical support for internal and external business development events; coordinating outreach from partner organizations (including small businesses); overseeing management and organization of business development files; and other duties as required.Proposal Coordination :Supports select new business opportunities by participating in reconnaissance and contributing to proposal efforts.Tracks adherence to assignments, schedules, and standard DAI operating procedures and informs team of progress and obstacles that may need to be addressed. Depending on the ebb and flow of opportunities and the current flow of opportunities, moves from one assignment to another.Data Analysis and Reporting: Regularly update and track data to produce, analyze, and summarize new business reports; support the BD department and other departments as necessary in data analysis for internal or proposal use.Training Support Services: Provide logistical support to BD department training classes including: securing training facilitators; scheduling training; coordination registration, room reservations, set up, evaluations, etc.Additional responsibilities may be assigned as business needs evolve.Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Requirements:

P1: General or administrative experience preferred and a college degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Understanding of or interest in the international development industry.

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

Able to work as part of a team.

Able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information with discretion.

Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel.

Strong administrative skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

Demonstrated ability to follow standard practices and procedures, receive general instruction and supervision, and contribute to projects and initiatives.

Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving and initiative to learn new skills.

Able to build and maintain good working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization.

Familiarity with the importance of diversity and inclusion.

Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred, but not required:

Proficiency in a second language (French, Spanish, Russian, or Arabic preferred).

Able and willing to travel to any country where DAI currently operates or may wish to operate barring times when DAI Global Security has deemed travel unsafe.

Compensation & Benefits:At the P1 level, for employees working the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $51,000 to $55,781. Salary for part-time employees will be prorated based on actual hours worked. Actual offers will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and business or organizational needs.Eligible U.S. based employees, will be able to enroll in medical, dental and vision insurance, plus a 401(k)-retirement plan with a company match. Additionally, employees will be eligible for company-paid annual leave (vacation & holidays), sick leave, parental leave; as well as short- and long-term disability coverage.
