Filamatic has an opportunity for an Electromechanical Assembler to join our team. In this role you will utilize both detailed and general instruction, schematics and wiring diagrams to build custom industrial filling and packaging machinery. Working closely with the team you will work on a variety of projects to ensure the machinery is built and ready for our customers to come onsite for acceptance testing. Once approved you will assist in preparing the machinery to be shipped to the customer’s location. The machinery ranges in size from smaller tabletop machines to large high speed production lines that are capable of filling, capping, inspecting and labeling the customers’ products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Build machinery using hand tools, measuring instruments in accordance with mechanical and electrical prints and in interaction with other departments.
Set up, test, troubleshoot and structure equipment applying knowledge of mechanical and electrical prints to ensure it meets customer specifications.
Perform testing of customer products, set up equipment to meet product specifications and required tests following test criteria.
Assist in preparing machinery for shipment to customer facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience assembling complex electromechanical machinery or capital equipment.
Knowledge of mechanical/electrical practices, electrical theory, basic PLC programming, pneumatics and troubleshooting.
Ability to follow detailed mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
Ability to use precision measuring tool, hand, power, and air tools.
Manual dexterity, eye/hand coordination, ability to bend, stoop, stand or kneel for long periods of time.
Electrical troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of servomotor control.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job requires being stationary and inspecting 75% of the time; moving, positioning self, reaching, moving up to 50 pounds approximately 20% of the time; requires use of hand tools air/power, phone, computer, measuring tools, mechanical and electrical testing equipment, voltmeter, air power tools, and machine tools.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Job requires working near/with moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles, vibration, sharp edges or parts, and emission of liquid up to 75% of the time. Moderate noise level.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly Rate: $24 - $32 per hour
